According to the 2025 admission plan for international master’s students at our university, and in accordance with the requirements outlined in documents such as the Notice by the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Admission of International Students by Chinese Higher Education Institutions, one international master’s student is proposed to be admitted upon personal application, evaluation and re-evaluation by the university’s International Student Admissions Committee.

Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA), founded in 1953, is the only independent higher education institution dedicated to fine arts in South China and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In 1981, GAFA was among the first institutions in China authorized to confer master’s degrees, and in 2021, it was approved to confer doctoral degrees. The academy currently offers three doctoral programs: first-level disciplines in “Fine Arts” and “Design,” as well as a professional doctorate in “Fine Arts and Calligraphy.”

According to the "Notice on Conducting the Preliminary Evaluation and Recommendation Work for the 2024 Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in Guangdong Province" issued by the Education Department of Guangdong Province, and the "Interim Measures for the Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in Guangdong Province", the total number of scholarship allocation for the 2024 Guangdong Provincial Government Scholarship at our university is 4 people: 1 new graduate student; 2 current undergraduate students; and 1 new undergraduate student.

According to the 2024 international undergraduate student recruitment plan of our university and the requirements of relevant documents such as the "Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Admission of International Students to Higher Education Institutions in China", after the application of the students themselves and the review and re-examination by the university's international student recruitment working group, the following three international students (undergraduate) are proposed to be admitted in the second batch.

Pursuant to the "Implementation Measures for International Student Scholarships at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts" and the "Regulations on the Evaluation and Commendation of Undergraduate Students," following a comprehensive selection process by respective academic departments and subsequent review by the International Student Office, it is proposed that LAU JUN SHAO and two other students be awarded the First, Second, and Third Prizes, respectively.
